LOS ANGELES — Hank Azaria kicked off The Simpsons Take the Bowl live show Friday evening with a warning to the audience of devotees: The cast hadn’t had a chance to rehearse much, so there might be some rough moments.

And, sure, it turned out to be a fair disclaimer.

Some singing cues were missed, some moments of confusion were seen and some exits were clunky. But, really, no one cared.

Why? Because it’s impossible to be unhappy when watching Conan O’Brien sing about monorails in a red blazer. Totally unacceptable to be displeased watching Michael Jackson sound-alike Kipp Lennon sing “Happy Birthday Lisa” with Nancy Cartwright (Bart). And it’s practically illegal to not enjoy a Weird Al performance. (In this case, the singer performed his “Jack and Diane” parody, “Homer and Marge.”)

If there was anything worth boo-urnsing, it is that there are only two more chances for people to catch the show — Saturday and Sunday night.

Also, Dan Castellaneta, who voices Homer among others, did not participate, meaning there was no “Baby on Board” number, which felt weird in a show dedicated to classic Simpsons musical moments.

There was still plenty to feast on, though, many of which made our list of highlights:
