Two University of Oregon fraternities announced new measures earlier this week to include and actively recruit trans men for the first time, adding their chapters to a growing list of Greek organizations that are attempting to become more inclusive.

Neither Delta Upsilon or Delta Tau Delta currently have trans students in their ranks, but both Oregon fraternities are reaching out to the LGBT groups at the school’s Eugene campus, and both have changed their formal recruitment policies.

“We really wanted language that didn’t exclude trans males,” said Henry Korman, Delta Upsilon’s vice president for loss prevention, in an interview with Mashable. “So, we decided to include not just male students but male-identified students in our bylaws.” Read more…
