Freedom is the name of the game in Fallout 4. You can go anywhere, do (pretty much) anything and eat or drink whatever as you wander the blown up ruins of Boston. Most of what you do in the game facilitates progress. Complete a quest to go further in the story, kill an encampment of raiders to clear it out for your own settlers. That sort of thing.

You don’t have to follow the path laid out for you. In fact, you can just futz around and waste time. The game supports all types of players. Here are five things you can (and should) do in Fallout 4 that won’t really impact your game in any way. Not that it matters.
