A ‘House of Cards’ favorite is now an Emmy winner
The Primetime Emmy Awards might still be a week away but some TV favorites are already big winners, including House of Cards favorite Reg E. Cathey
Cathey, who has played chef and presidential confidant Freddy for three season on the Netflix series, walked away with the Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series statue, beating out the likes of Beau Bridges (Masters of Sex), Michael J. Fox (Good Wife) and Pablo Schreiber (Orange Is the New Black)
Cathey’s win was anything but an upset, though, as the actor’s character enjoyed more than a few standout moments in the past season.
Speaking of upsets: Poor Jon Hamm. He was considered a bit of a lock in the race for the Best Guest Actor in a Comedy thanks to his hilarious turn as a cult leader in The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, but he ended up losing to an equally deserving Bradley Whitford, who won for his role in Transparent.
