LOS ANGELES — With 1.5 million Twitter followers, it’s safe to say that Aubrey Plaza knows a thing or two about obsessed fans, especially following her ribald turn in Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates.

In her next film, Plaza herself will be that obsessed fan, as she has signed on to star opposite Elizabeth Olsen in the dark comedy Ingrid Goes West, it was announced Monday.

Matt Spicer will make his directorial debut with the film, which he co-wrote with David Branson Smith. It’s been a good week for Spicer, who is also writing Disney’s Rocketeer reboot with Max Winkler.
