BBC to launch streaming service for U.S. — but some big-time British faves won’t be there
The BBC is looking to launch a streaming service for U.S. and Canadian viewers next year, but there are no plans for that service to host content currently available in either country through other distributors, Mashable has been told
Meaning, your Sherlock will still come from PBS and your Doctor Who will still be on BBC America, U.S fans.

In statements quoted by THR from a TV industry convention that took place in England on Thursday, Director-General Tony Hall said the new OTT video service would offer BBC fans “programs they wouldn’t otherwise get.” Read more…
