It’s showtime!

Well, it will be. Winona Ryder confirmed on Late Night Tuesday that there is, in fact, a sequel to Beetlejuice in the works — news that should please fans who’ve been waiting for another adventure starring the Ghost with the Most since the original came to theaters in 1988. (The 1989-1991 animated series may or may not count.)

Ryder was initially hesitant to talk Beetlejuice when host Seth Meyers brought up the long-in-development second movie. But she eventually stopped hedging, reasoning that since Tim Burton himself has given recent interviews about the film — telling IGN last December that the sequel is “closer than ever” — she was in the clear.
