D.C. Metro riders swim free, thanks to massive flooding
Who needs a public pool this summer?
In Washington, D.C., commuters had the luxury of wading through cascading waterfalls on their way home from work on Tuesday, as heavy rains flooded the Cleveland Park Metro station.
Apparently, wet pantsuits and khakis didn’t stop D.C. residents from getting to their destinationsThe area was pounded by heavy rainstorms on Tuesday, knocking out trees and power lines and leaving thousands of people without power. But everything was OK because the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority had a yellow cone.
Eventually, the Cleveland Park station was closed. Good thing, too, because photographic evidence pointed to sharks in the water. Read more…
