Design FX: How They Made the Incredible Effects of The Force Awakens
Director J.J. Abrams aimed to use practical effects whenever possible on Star Wars: The Force Awakens. But for some scenes and characters, he just had to use CGI. One such digital performer was Maz Kanata, the watering hole proprietor played by Lupita Nyong’o. But she wasn’t the only one done digitally. Check out the Design FX video above to see just how ILM built the wild, wonderful world of The Force Awakens.
