Hollywood pays tribute to Garry Marshall, dead at 81
Garry Marshall, the producer, writer-director and sometimes actor who created Happy Days, Laverne & Shirley and Pretty Woman, has died. He was 81.
Marshall died Tuesday night of complications from pneumonia following a stroke at a hospital in Burbank, California, Mashable has confirmed with his publicist, Michelle Bega.
The Hollywood legend made a name for himself in the 1970s creating such iconic TV sitcoms as Happy Days and Mork & Mindy. Later, he became known for directing box office hits including Pretty Woman and The Princess Diaries.
Soon after news of his death broke, his Hollywood friends and colleagues paid tribute to him on social media. Read more…
