Don’t worry: A lack of Hebrew knowledge won’t stop you from enjoying the trailer for Natalie Portman’s directorial debut, A Tale of Love and Darkness.

Though Hebrew school did not adequately prepare me to understand Portman’s passion project (she wrote, directed, and starred in it), luckily my rabbi father was on call to help.

Below is the international trailer for the movie, which premiered at Cannes in May and currently has no US release date.
