While Bollywood has a long history of films about bromances, on-screen representation of female friendships has been few and far betweenAngry Indian Goddesses, releasing this Friday in India, is set to change that.

Pegged as India’s first female buddy film, AIG follows seven women who come together for their friend Frieda’s wedding in Goa, along their conversations and impromptu adventures leading to the big day. While the film has been directed by award-winning director Pan Nalin, the cast comprises of a mix of ‘indie’ actresses such as Tannishtha Chatterjee and Sandhya Mridul, singer Anushka Manchanda, and model Sarah Jane Dias.
