J.J. Abrams, you rascal.

A surprise Bad Robot trailer for a film called 10 Cloverfield Lane is running in front of Michael Bay’s newly released 13 Hours. The clip features John Goodman, Mary Elizabeth Winstead and John Gallagher, Jr. trapped in some kind of underground bunker, with Winstead and Gallagher seemingly being held against their will.

The title suggests that the upcoming movie has some sort of connection to 2008’s Abrams-produced, found-footage monster movie Cloverfield — and the director confirms as much in a statement issued to Collider: “The idea came up a long time ago during production. We wanted to make it a blood relative of Cloverfield. The idea was developed over time. We wanted to hold back the title for as long as possible.” Read more…
