After much debate and even court action, the University of Texas has removed the statue of Confederate president Jefferson Davis from its place on the campus’ Main Mall. The statue will now be located inside the university’s Briscoe Center for American History building

UT-Austin President Greg Fenves decided to move the statue in August, but the move was temporarily held up due to a request for a restraining order by the Sons of the Confederacy. That request was denied by a judge on Friday and the statue was moved on Sunday. Read more…
