Jews light Lego, ice menorahs to celebrate Hanukkah around the world
Around the world, people are lighting menorahs.
Since Dec. 6, Jews around the world have been celebrating Hanukkah, also known as the Festival of Lights. Hanukkah celebrates a miracle that occurred after a Jewish rebel army known as the Maccabees reclaimed the Holy Temple in Jerusalem, which had been overtaken by a Hellenistic empire before the common era. After purifying the temple, there was only enough oil to light the menorah for one night, but the oil miraculously lasted eight nights
