All of the lights will be on Kanye West at the MTV Video Music Awards.

The 21-time Grammy winner will accept the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at the Aug. 30 ceremony, following in the footsteps of previous recipients Michael Jackson, Madonna, Peter Gabriel, R.E.M., Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears and Beyoncé

There’s no word on whether Kanye will perform, but past honorees such as Beyoncé in 2014 and JT in 2013 treated fans to extended performances before accepting the Vanguard Award, which is a lifetime-achievement accolade honoring groundbreaking music videos. Read more…
