But are Mexicans welcome?

I’m told one should never discuss politics on a first date.

But isn’t it worth getting it out of the way before you actually end up liking some aspect of your date?

Why believe that you, a religious vegan conservative, could ever commune with an anarcho-syndicalist?

Why torture yourself by being with a raving socialist when at heart you’re a self-centered capitalist?

This would be like Bernie Sanders dating Hillary Clinton. Not a match made in paradise, you might agree.

You will be relieved, therefore, that there’s now a dating site that will make dating great again.

I know this because its tagline is “Make Dating Great Again.” It’s surely not a leap for you to imagine that the site is called

This site is just what you imagine: a place where Trump supporters can find love — or just “fun” — with other Trump supporters.

TrumpSingles isn’t directly affiliated with the Trump campaign. Indeed, CNN tells me that its founder, David Goss, is a reality TV producer. Therefore, in its way, the site bears similarities to Trump’s own roots.

It seems to function along the usual lines. You post a profile, explain how large you are and express a preference for a certain type of lover.

Then you wait for a date during which there will be no wall. In terms of your political leanings, that is.

The inspiration for this beautiful concoction was apparently, which tries to bring love to all those youthful types who have followed Bernie Sanders to the glorious end.

That site, however, just has a picture of the candidate on the home page. features four lovely, gorgeous humans — two of each sex.

You’ll be paralyzed beyond ululation, however, when I tell you all four of these beautiful people are white.

Might this be a (barely) subliminal intimation that the Trump campaign is really a white people thing?

TrumpSingles didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.

Goss, though, told the New York Post that his intentions are noble.

“At first I was concerned that people would think this was a parody site,” he said. “But people have told me that they’re so happy they can finally go on dates without worrying about political differences.”

How painful, though, might it still be if you go on a date with a fellow Trump supporter and discover you actually don’t get on at all?

Making a relationship great to begin with — never mind again — is a highly delicate affair.

Politics isn’t powerful enough to make it work. Come to think of it, these days politics isn’t powerful enough to make anything work.
