Mockingjay Part 2, the final chapter in Lionsgate‘s big screen adaptation of The Hunger Games series, won’t quite plant the landing for its opening weekend, it seems.

Its $47 million Friday box office and projected weekend take of $104.3 million (all figures refer to domestic performance, unless otherwise noted) point to the series’ weakest opening to date, after Mockingjay Part 1 set the low bar in 2014 with a $121.9 million in opening ticket sales. Projections had previously put Part 2 on track to match its most recent predecessor’s week one performance.
