Technically Incorrect offers a slightly twisted take on the tech that’s taken over our lives.

The one-liners just rolled along.

“This came from an American culture that would just say things and do them without any idea how.”

No, I’m not talking about the institution of the presidency. I’m quoting Jerry Seinfeld about the 1963 Corvette Stingray Split Window Coupe.

To launch the seventh season of the Web series “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee,” Seinfeld thought he’d invite President Barack Obama along for the ride.

After all, Obama qualifies as a comedian because of his more than passable one-liners over the years, even if his popularity rating wasn’t always high.

The president explained that he was very popular with the 0-8 demographic.

I always wanted to be in a show about nothing, and here I am,” said the president, referring to Seinfeld’s famous TV series.

The White House doesn’t appear to be a Nest-friendly smart home. To change the temperature, the president said, he has to make a call.

How many world leaders are completely out of their mind, Seinfeld asked. “A pretty sizable percentage,” replied the president. The longer they stay in office, the worse it gets. Especially when they have trouble peeing.

And so we discover that the Obama-Seinfeld comedy duo isn’t quite as funny as the Bill Gates-Seinfeld duo in some much-lamented ads (by me) that Microsoft ran some years ago.

Still, the president has a slightly more serious job than Gates’, so his humor tends to be of the more mordant variety, and when it is, it’s really quite good.

If you’d had to deal with the vast intellects of Congress — which, to be fair, Obama seems rarely to have done — your humor might be a touch mordant too.
