A state in Australia has banned protesters from coming within 150 metres of an abortion clinic.

The legislation — which prevents anyone from hassling, abusing or filming women entering or leaving a clinic in Victoria — passed the Upper House of the Victorian Parliament without amendment on Friday, according to ABC News.

The bill, originally introduced by Sex Party MP Fiona Patten but now supported by the state government, was passed easily with 31 votes to eight following a lengthy 12-hour debate in parliament.
