Rebecca Black Wants to Surprise You With Her New ‘Rockish’ Sound
It’s Friday, Friday, gotta get down on Friday with this Rebecca Black news.
The singer who gave us the inescapable viral hit “Friday” in 2011 and its fitting calendar-inspired followup “Saturday” in 2013 will be venturing into new music territory.
The 17-year-old Internet star told Mashable that her new music will sound more “rockish” than her previous pop tunes. Watch her hesitantly talk about her upcoming musical vibe during the MTV Video Music Awards red carpet in the video above.
What type of rock persona she’ll strive to achieve is yet to be seen. Will it be more punk rock like Avril Lavigne or more power pop rock like Amy Lee from Evanescence?
In addition to working on new music, Black continues to maintain her web presence by updating her YouTube channel and other social accounts such as Vine with cover songs and vlogs. And she’s been working on her vocal capabilities, as demonstrated in this Vine:
Whatever the outcome of her new music, we’ll always have “Friday.”
