Fans will finally be able to return to the Raccoon City of their memories — 17 years later.

Capcom has announced that Resident Evil 2, one of the original PlayStation’s biggest hits, is being remastered after numerous requests from fans. Producer Yoshiaki Hirabyashi made the announcement on YouTube in Japanese, while wearing a shirt that simply read “We do it!”

Resident Evil 2 was released in 1998 for the PlayStation, taking place two months after the first game led players through a monster-infested house. Players choose to play as either Leon or Claire, with the added twist that whichever story they complete first has ripple effects on the other pathways in the future. Read more…
