Shot Louisiana cop and stabbing victim die after mini-mart attack

A police officer and 40-year-old woman have died after they were shot and stabbed, respectively, at a mini-mart in Sunset, Louisiana, which is about 15 miles north of Lafayette, Louisiana
St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz identified the victims as 51-year-old Officer Henry Nelson and Shameka Johnson, The Associated Press reports. Two other women were also stabbed: Shurlay Johnson, who is Shameka’s 34-year-old sister, and Courtney Jolivette
Jolivette’s husband has been accused of carrying out the attacks before he drove into the mini-mart and barricaded himself inside. The building caught on fire, but firefighters swiftly extinguished the blaze. Read more…
