It took nearly three hours, but the Force finally awoke as promised during ABC’s Thursday night primetime Shonda Rhimes block, also known as Thank God It’s Thursday (TGIT)

The network, and Rhimes, had been teasing an event called TGITAwakens — which, for the most part, consisted of short “bumper” segments with cast members from each of the block’s three shows (Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal and How to Get Away With Murder) talking about how much they liked Star Wars movies — and how much their shows, improbably, resembled Star Wars
