Stream Con draws in droves of digital conference newbies on Halloween
NEW YORK — Halloween at Stream Con was quieter than expected, with shorter lines and fairly tame crowds.
Thousands of fans, creators and industry members flocked to Javits Center on Saturday for the second day of the inaugural digital content conference. Many who showed up — parents and teens alike — were tri-state locals who said they were first timers to digital content conferences like Stream Con.
But a regional attendee presence is kind of what organizers Leftfield Media and Tubefilter expected. The companies created the event after noticing the lack of conferences geared toward digital content fans on the East Coast. It was also an opportunity to attract Madison Avenue brands, publishers, licensors and advertisers rather than Hollywood honchos, who tend to attend the Anaheim-based VidCon. Read more…
