SwiftKey Reveals Apple iOS 8 Version and Launch Date
Apple’s forthcoming iOS 8 received a major speed boost in the way of texting on Wednesday when SwiftKey unveiled its latest version for the next-gen Apple mobile operating system.
In a surprisingly well-crafted video (for an app) narrated by British actor Stephen Fry, iPhone users got their first peek at SwiftKey on iOS 8 — and it looks good.
The iOS 8 version of the app will be available for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. It speeds up typing by predicting entire words based on user input, and enables users to swipe across the keyboard rather than type to enter text.
Of course, with Apple‘s iOS 8 allowing third-party keyboards, the competition is on to grab some prime text-typing real estate on the latest iPhone operating system.
SwiftKey is coming to iOS 8, and — even better news for dedicated users — will launch on the same day (Sept. 17) as the operating system.
For international users, the software will only support English, Portuguese, French, German, Italian and Spanish at launch.
