Syrian TV edits condemnation of attack out of UN speech
The United Nations has condemned the Syrian government’s deadly attack on a marketplace in Douma, a suburb on the outskirts of Damascus under oppositon control, that left nearly 100 people dead on Sunday
Government air raids struck a vegetable market in the suburb, according to activists on the ground. Images and video of the aftermath show dozens of bodies of those killed in the attack, with many children among the victims
But government censors were quick to wipe the condemnation of the attack from local news outlets — showing the rest of the UN official’s speech instead.
