Before there was BioShock, before there was even Deus Ex, there was System Shock.

The classic sci-fi adventure from Looking Glass Studios left a deep mark on gaming. Now it’s more playable than it has been in a long time, thanks to a new “Enhanced Edition” release from Night Dive Studios. It’s still the same game you remember from 1994 — just updated to run well on modern PCs.

The big change is improved support for a range of display resolutions. The original game capped out at 640×480, but Night Dive’s remaster brings the max resolution up to 1024×768, with 854×480 now included as an option for those with widescreen monitors. Read more…
