Rome and this Lego version of Princess Zelda’s castle have one thing in common: neither was built in a day.

In fact, 19-year-old Joseph Zawada spent two and a half years building his replica of Hyrule Castle, which he said was inspired by the version in The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. As Zawada told YouTube channel Behind the Brick, he wanted to honor his favorite entry in the classic game series.

The Lego Hyrule Castle breaks down into 40 different large pieces, Zawada said in the interview, and it takes 2 cars to transport. Despite that, “it’s still really solid.” The most difficult pieces for him to build were the pointed, octagonal roofs, which aren’t exactly a shape compatible with Lego bricks. Read more…
