Turns out that guy who tried to bet £15,000 that Radiohead would record the theme for Spectre was onto something.

For one brief, shining moment back in July, Thom Yorke’s band of rockers were the rumored favorites for that prestigious gig — leading a pack that, according to oddsmakers, also included Sam Smith, previous Bond crooner Adele, Ed Sheeran and Ellie Goulding.

The prize ended up going to Smith, whose soulful throwback anthem “Writing’s on the Wall” was recently among the Golden Globes’ Best Song nominees.

But as Yorke revealed on Twitter Christmas Day, he and his bandmates really were contenders for the job — and they went so far as to actually record a prospective theme for the most recent James Bond movie. Read more…
