Tinder is reinstating co-founder Sean Rad as chief executive, five months after the matchmaking company replaced him with current CEO Chris Payne.

Payne, a former eBay and Microsoft executive, is leaving the company, and Greg Blatt, chairman of parent conglomerate IAC’s Match Group subsidiary, will step in as chairman, the company announced.

Tinder board member Matt Cohler said it was clear to the board that Payne was not a good “long-term fit” for the company.

“It’s only been a few months, but there was mutual agreement here that it was not the right long-term fit, and given Tinder’s rapid growth trajectory both Christopher and the Board thought prompt action was best for everyone,” Cohler said in a statement Read more…
