LONDON — The Top Gear producer who was physically and verbally attacked by Jeremy Clarkson in March, resulting in the presenter’s departure from the show, is suing him for racial discrimination.

Oisin Tymon’s legal team met lawyers for Clarkson and the BBC at an employment tribunal Friday, the BBC reports.

The 36-year-old Irishman is reportedly seeking more than £100,000 ($152,000).

The case relates to an incident that took place at a hotel in North Yorkshire during filming for the show, after Clarkson was told there was no hot food available after a day of filming. The presenter was subsequently suspended and several episodes of the show were pulled from their original slots. Read more…
