Watch ‘Asteroids’ Obliterate a 1,700-Brick Lego TIE Fighter
Here’s the thing about TIE fighters: They look super cool. They are, however, fairly bad at dodging asteroids. Like, for example, that time a bunch of them tried to chase the Millennium Falcon through the Anoat Asteroid Belt. Generally speaking, the entire Battle of Hoth was one military blunder after another on the part of the Empire, but the inability of the TIEs to dodge the rocks was especially embarrassing. But! When you recreate that scene from Star Wars: Episode V—The Empire Strikes Back using 1,685 Lego bricks and some rocks, it’s actually quite awesome. We did just that for the video above, spending four hours building the TIE fighter and then 0.8 seconds destroying it. Check it out.
