Where’s the penis? Kansas State fines itself over bizarre halftime show
Kansas State University’s band is really bad at marching in the shape of the USS Enterprise and now it’s paying the price.
The university has agreed to pay a $5,000 fine after its marching band attempted to act out a battle between the famous starship from Star Trek and their rival University of Kansas Jayhawk mascot during its Saturday home-opener against South Dakota
But the space-themed march looked like a penis entering a bird’s mouth to some — and that upset college sports bigwigs.
In addition to handing over $5,000 to the Big 12 Conference, the university said band director Frank Tracz will sit out the Nov. 28 game. School officials must also approve future halftime shows, according to the Associated Press.
