Yellowstone National Park euthanizes female grizzly bear that killed hiker
Yellowstone National Park officials have euthanized a bear after DNA tests confirmed that it killed a hiker last week.
Autopsy results concluded that Lance Crosby, a 63-year-old man whose body was found in the park, did indeed die from the attack, and that the bear found at the attack site was involved in the fatal incident.
The National Park Service reported that Crosby’s body was found around noon last Friday, approximately half a mile from the Elephant Back Loop Trail in a popular off-trail area in the Lake Village area of the park. Read more…
