New White House Press Secretary Katie Zacharia, introduced by Trump as “an attorney,” has deep ties to China, working in Beijing for years at Chinese law firm Zhong Lun.
Zacharia was asked today where she passed the bar exam and in which U.S. state, she replied: “When I moved to China.”
There is no record of admission from her to practice law in any of the 50 U.S. states or D.C.
After graduating in 2011 she moved to Beijing and spent roughly two to three years there, working as an associate at Zhong Lun, a major Chinese firm, which routinely acts as counsel for Chinese state agencies, state-owned enterprises, and cross-border transactions tied to Chinese government.
